For accessibility, laws are essential. Unfortunately, we still don’t live in an inclusive society. Hence we need directions to protect everyone who needs it. Luckily there is the much-needed progression from around the world.
The related laws can be of different types (civil rights, procurement, and industry-specific), so many aren’t just web or internet based but generic. Fortunately (and hopefully with a newer version), a common thing is usually the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), the standard of web accessibility.
